Rocket-Courier > The Wiser Choice Restaurant won the contest for best business entry in the firemen&#8217;s parade. Their truck, accompanied by a group of six ladies dressed for combat, advised the parade audience to &#8220;March to the Wiser Choice for a Good Meal!&#8221; Seen here are (front row, from left) Sherry Sherman, Barb LaBelle, Sara Benscoter and Heather Winters. Rocket-Courier > During a short ceremony conducted by members of the Black Walnut American Legion Post 510, a handsome new Veterans&#8217; Memorial monument was unveiled. Rocket-Courier > Fred Askew from Mehoopany, decked out like Uncle Sam and driving his patriotic truck, &#8220;Old Glory&#8221; won the prize for best non-profit entry in the firemen&#8217;s parade.
Rocket-Courier > &#8220;Little Miss Liberty,&#8221; Mara Ryan, won the baby parade&#8217;s prize for &#8220;most patriotic.&#8221; Her parents are Danielle Ryan (seen here) and Deryk Davis.
Rocket-Courier > Parker Swank, son of Phil and Michelle Swank, won the prize for &#8220;most original&#8221; in the patriotic-themed baby parade.
Rocket-Courier > This year&#8217;s Community Day saw the unveiling of this beautiful new Veterans&#8217; Memorial monument.
Rocket-Courier > Mikey Wilcox pedaled with all his might, winning first place for his age group in the pedal tractor pulls. This was one of the many fun and exciting events that took place at Laceyville&#8217;s 10th Annual Community Day on Saturday.
